[A selection of maxims, instructive lessons, songs, and definitions]. 1853.

An assortment of writings, including lessons on leading a good life and seeking God. Of particular interest is a poem titled "Robbery at Ohio, 1809," about a mob who robbed the Shakers. Other poems concern the solar system and Alexander Selkirk. A set of questions gives definitions of human characteristics. Another section defines occupations.
